Pepe Kalafot - Sound Edit & Tracklay

This unscripted documentary, shot in Croatia by Opis Film, explores the rich tradition of boat making. I provided sound FX edit and tracklaying to enhance the film's atmosphere, bringing the sounds of craftsmanship and nature to life. With its authentic portrayal of this cultural art form, the documentary stands out with a carefully designed soundscape that complements the visuals and storytelling.

"Pepe Kalafot - the last troubadour of the island" - A film in which a folk poet and performer is introduced to us in an original and direct way through his songs and storytelling. Through his poetic alter ego, Pepe Kalafot, he depicts life on an Adriatic island Komiza in his unique way. Through his storytelling, we learn interesting facts about old crafts that no longer exist, customs of the local population, his reflections on the past, but also the present. Through the original speech and performances of the poet, we also get acquainted with the specific Komiski dialect, of which the locals are certainly proud. This dialect is a great treasure of the Croatian language tradition, worthy of preservation, cultivation, and transfer to future generations.
